Before the looking glass,
I sadly stared at my reflection:
“Senior!”, I whispered, “Third Age Class!”…
Whatever I am! I have no objection!
++
It’s so painful looking at me and see
that a lifetime elapsed so fast…
Remainings of the man I used to be
That’s all I find in the mirror at last
++…
Wise and clever I’m feeling no longer
and in doubt I am if I have ever been;
Have I at any time been stronger?
I asked my own wreckage in the mirror seen…
++
Laughed loudly at me the looking glass!…
Waves of heat and rage came up on my face
Should I destroy this miserable glass
that laughs at my ageing disgrace?
++
“Calm down!”, I forced myself;
Then, got the razor from the shelf
and started shaving my chin.
At the mirror I stuck out my tong
then madly laughed and sang a song
and, finally, forgot about my ageing skin…
